Obsession of innovation is the other extreme. On June, 11 (2015) I participated on lectures dedicated to growth and space to growth within an independent Ted event. The event had a title „Space to grow”. I especially enjoyed the lectures of Magdalena Kozłowska-Deć, Hoang Minh Ngo and Dawid Sokołowski.

*Magdalena Kozłowska-Deć – works with women within Fundation Center of Women Promotion (Fundacja Centrum Promocji Kobiet) and within the biggest Polish festival of development PROGRESSteron, co-author of book for retired women about organisation of events („Przygoda nie tylko dla wnuka”).

*Hoang Minh Ngo – IT worker, certified interpreter, social activist from Vietnam; board member of Social-Cultural Association of Vietnameses in Poland (Towarzystwo Społeczno-Kulturalne Wietnamczyków w Polsce), editor of paper Que Viet; organiser of demonstration against politics of hegemony of China.

*Dawid Sokołowski – leader of the network of reasonable business. More about the network you can find here.

That’s why the Centre of Human Rights Education of the University of Teacher Education in Lucerne is organising the Human Rights Education Symposium in Lucerne. The topic of the Symposium in 2012 was the developing of teaching materials on human rights education. I took part on following workshops:

1. “Inklusion als Menschenrecht” Online Manual for Pedagogical Practice / Materials for Human Rights Education in simple Language (Dr. Claudia Lohrenscheit and Meike Günther, German Institute for Human Rights)
2. Toolkit Holocaust Education – Human Rights Education (Dr. Eva Sobotka, Equality and Citizens Rights Department, European Union Fundamental Rights Agency).

3. Human Rights Education (HRE)-Training for Civil Servants (Kirsten Roberts, Irish Human Rights Commission)

The programme of this Symposium you find here.

Every year member meet at different cities in the region. A member can be everyone, who is interested in the culture and civic life in the region. The meetings have the name „Festival” and have different topics. E.g. the 9th Festival of MitOst took place in České Budějovice from 28.9.2011 till 2.10.2011. The topic of this MitOst – Festival was new forms of engagement. There were many people who are engaged for a balanced life.

I also took part on some interesting workshops about engagement via Internet and readings and talks about East Central Europe.

After the 9th MitOst-Festival in České Budějovice some MitOst-members went to Český Krumlov. It is a small city in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic with fine architecture and art of the historic old town and Český Krumlov Castle. It should be also mentioned that the Old Český Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The pictue shows also the Revolving Theatre, which is an amazing thing one should see.

Prague is the place where different ways are crossing and many members of the association MitOst could meet after of before the annual meeting event, the so-called „MitOst-Festival”. It is a very open city with some quite unusual monuments.
